Dinolords Launches New Eight-Player Multiplayer Demo on Steam
Dinolords, the upcoming medieval strategy game featuring dinosaurs, has launched a new multiplayer demo on Steam. Developed by Northplay and published by Ghost Ship Publishing, the demo is available from October 26 to…

Dinolords Multiplayer Demo Available Until November 2
The new free demo lets players experience Dinolords’ medieval warfare with up to seven other players, working together to build settlements, command armies and defeat opposing forces. Those who prefer competing against friends can engage in PvP battles, while solo play is also supported. Northplay has previously outlined several multiplayer configurations, including team battles, free-for-all matches and cooperative encounters against computer-controlled opponents.Building and defending strongholds remains an important part of the experience, with players gathering resources, training units and coordinating attacks. However, Dinolords also lets players join battles directly, controlling their lord alongside human soldiers and prehistoric creatures rather than simply issuing orders from above.
“We’re excited to give players the opportunity to experience Dinolords together in multiplayer,” said Michael Flarup, CEO of Northplay.
“Bringing friends into the world of Dinolords adds a new dimension to building, strategising and fighting alongside one another, and we can’t wait to see how players approach the challenges ahead.”
The multiplayer demo is available through the Dinolords Steam page until November 2. The full game is currently planned for Steam Early Access, although Northplay hasn’t confirmed a release date.
Dinolords Blends Medieval RTS Gameplay With Dinosaurs
Dinolords takes place in an alternate medieval England where invading Danes have introduced dinosaurs to the battlefield. Players must develop settlements, establish defenses and build armies to repel enemy forces, using both conventional medieval troops and prehistoric creatures. The unusual combination is supported by a mixture of familiar RTS mechanics and action RPG gameplay, allowing players to control their lord directly using WASD movement. As we discovered during our Dinolords Gamescom hands-on preview, Northplay has streamlined several traditional RTS mechanics to keep players actively involved in exploration and combat. Villagers automatically handle construction and resource gathering, while newly trained units can join the player’s lord without requiring constant micromanagement.
Dinosaurs also play a significant role beyond combat. Players can locate nests, collect eggs, and raise creatures to strengthen their armies, while amber provides another valuable resource for upgrading units and buildings. Larger dinosaurs, including armored Tyrannosaurus rexes, can become powerful battlefield assets capable of breaking through enemy defenses. Players can even ride these enormous creatures into battle.
The Gamescom build demonstrated how the combination of direct combat, automated management, and dinosaur units could offer something different from traditional RTS games. With multiplayer now available, the latest demo gives players an opportunity to test how those systems work.
